Teamster Retirees
The Association of Teamster Retirees is organized to advance and promote all Retiree and Senior issues including protecting Social Security, Medicare, Driving Privileges, Supplemental Insurance, Health Care Access, Prescription Drugs, Long-Term Care and fighting all attempts to take away Cost-of-Living Protection under Social Security.

Attended by retirees from five different locals, the Hi-Desert Teamsters Retiree chapter was established in 2001. Before they were nationally recognized, a half-dozen former Teamsters meet regularly for breakfast. In 2001, John DeWorken, who became the chapter’s first President, suggested they make the group official. At the time they had a regular attendance of 20 retirees. Currently attendance can reach over 100.

The group’s second President, Ed Rodriguez schedules guest to speak on a variety of topics ranging from health and dental care and pensions, to identity theft, hearing aids and CHiPs for Kids (a toy drive sponsored by the California CHP.

The Hi-Desert Retirees meet the last Tuesday of the month at the Golden Corral, 12845 Main St, Hesperia, CA 92345.
